Secret Passion
We essentially had only one day to enjoy the fun of Las Vegas. It is well known that each hotel in Las Vegas is like a small town with different kinds of entertainment: exhibits, shows, restaurants, bars, galleries, and so on… all based on a specific theme. It is easy to spend the whole day at one hotel without seeing or doing it all…
Our first visit to Las Vegas was absolutely remarkable!
While one spontaneous, crazy dream was becoming a reality, another life-long and deeply buried secret passion experienced a resurrection in my heart… Although it was barely a flicker, my dreams of becoming an equestrian continued to burn deeply under the layer’s of life’s circumstances and demands. Thus, we went horseback riding in the Red Canyon.
My husband got Bailey, a funny-looking horse with a conspicuously cow-like coat…
Our daughter got indifferent white-grey half-sleepy horse…
And, I got the horse named “No-Sale” that I’ve constantly mistaken to be “On-Sale”…
For an entire hour, we roamed the Red Canyon among strange shaped cactuses, dry and deadly-looking plants (that horses treated as the best food ever…) under the bright Nevada’s sun… sun we miss so much in Seattle, Washington…
No doubt, it was a silly thing to do – to drive 1200 miles to the city of our dreams for only one day riding horses!…
Even though my loved ones were not as excited at the beginning as I was, after the ride, we were all equally delighted, and, moreover, my companions couldn’t stop talking to their horses like they were able to understand humans while the rest of the riders waited for us on the bus.
